Monumental courtyard buildings

A century old lasting presence of a German ethnic group is mirrored in typical timbered architecture of West Bohemia till these days. Four buildings compounded of a habitable house, an open shed, a barn and a farming house, that is a typical west bohemian timbered courtyard building. Majority of these building was surrounded with such a large land, that they stood often out of their neighbour’s sight. Take a look at four of the most significant courtyard buildings of the west bohemian area and savor the magic of the folk architecture.
